Everything you need to know about raising your virtual companion - without spoiling the discovery.
The Evolution System
Life Stages
Every SkyLing begins as an egg and evolves through distinct life stages. Each evolution takes real time - hours for some transitions, days for others. Patience and consistent care are rewarded.
Between certain stages, your SkyLing will enter a cocoon phase - a brief rest before emerging transformed.
Branching Paths
Evolution isn't linear. Your activity patterns and care quality influence which creature your SkyLing becomes. The same egg can lead to vastly different adult forms depending on how you interact with the game and your watch.
Activity Matters
When you're active, what time of day you move, and how intensely you exercise all play a role in determining your SkyLing's path.
Care Quality
How well you look after your companion influences evolution. Consistent care unlocks different forms than neglect.
Three Families
SkyLings belong to one of three distinct families. Which family your companion joins depends on your activity during early life stages.
Nature-Aligned
Creatures connected to growth and the natural world. They thrive with certain daily rhythms.
Energy-Driven
Active, dynamic creatures that respond to physical intensity. Movement is their language.
Digital
Tech-inspired beings that emerge from different lifestyle patterns. Night owls may find familiar friends.
Each family branches into multiple child forms, and each child can become one of several adults. There are many creatures waiting to be discovered.
Gameplay Tips
Core Stats
Your SkyLing has three vital stats that naturally decay over time:
- Hunger - Keep them fed
- Cleanliness - A tidy habitat is a happy habitat
- Happiness - Play and interact often
Low stats affect health. Very low cleanliness can make your SkyLing sick.
Care Actions
Interact with your SkyLing through simple care actions:
- Feed - Restore hunger and boost mood
- Play - Increase happiness (but uses energy)
- Clean - Tidy the habitat and lift spirits
- Heal - Cure sickness when needed
- Nurture - Speed up egg and cocoon phases
Star Dust
Star Dust is the in-game currency. Earn it by being active - your steps are converted into Star Dust automatically.
Spend Star Dust in the shop on food, cleaning supplies, and medical items to care for your companion.
Minigames
Play minigames with your SkyLing to boost happiness and satisfy hunger. Five games are available:
- Star Catcher - Catch falling stars, dodge obstacles
- Rhythm Tap - Tap to the beat
- Blackjack - Classic card game
- Move Game - Shake to score
- Balance - Tilt to keep balanced on a pivoting platform
Adult Perk: Raise your SkyLing to adult stage to unlock the ability to choose which mini-game to play instead of random selection!
Touch Controls
SkyLing supports full touch controls on compatible devices. Both buttons and touch work seamlessly together.
Menus & Shop
- Tap screen - Open the menu
- Tap item - Select that option
- Tap outside menu - Close menu
- Swipe up/down - Page through shop items
Minigames
- Star Catcher - Tap left/right side to move
- Blackjack - Tap top to hit, bottom to stand
- Rhythm - Tap top/bottom for each lane
- Balance - Tilt watch to stay balanced
Button controls also work for all actions if you prefer physical buttons.
Background Notifications
SkyLing runs a background service that monitors your companion's wellbeing even when the app is closed. You'll receive notifications when:
- ● Your SkyLing's stats are getting low
- ● Your SkyLing becomes sick and needs healing
- ● An evolution is ready to happen
Never miss an important moment in your SkyLing's life.
The Memorial
Not every journey lasts forever. If a SkyLing passes away from neglect, or if you choose to let them go, they're remembered in the Memorial.
Visit the Memorial to see the SkyLings you've raised over time, along with their lifetime stats - how long they lived, the form they reached, and how you cared for them.
Sometimes saying goodbye is part of the journey.

Pro Tips
Check in regularly. Stats decay even when you're not playing. A quick check a few times a day keeps your SkyLing healthy.
Eggs and cocoons don't need feeding. During dormant phases, stats are frozen. Use this time to stockpile Star Dust.
Low cleanliness = sickness risk. Don't let the habitat get too messy or your SkyLing may fall ill.
Experiment with your routine. Different activity patterns lead to different creatures. Try varying when and how you're active.
